The popular remark-fetching overhaul Evernote has announced today that it has acquired touristy iPad note- winning app Penultimate. Penultimate will remain a disunite app, simply will gain many features including closer sync integration with Evernote and lookup capabilities. The creator of Penult, Ben Zotto will be connection the Evernote squad.

These two note-taking apps receive very complimentary features. Penultimate is one of the best handwriting apps for the iPad, oblation smooth inking and great medallion rejection. Evernote has expanded from a desktop application for taking, storing, and inquiring notes, onto most major mobile platforms, giving you searchable accession to all of your notes nearly everywhere.

Penultima already has the ability to sync notes to Evernote, which brings a host of features — Evernote runs Sensory system Character Recognition (OCR) on your handwritten notes in the background, making them searchable. Yet, each note must be uploaded individually, and changes cannot be made to the distinction uploaded to Evernote, only the original in Next-to-last.

Penultimate offers a great handwriting and drawing experience.

Having continuous sync or adding OCR instantly to Penultimate would only if make the app Sir Thomas More appealing. Ben Zotto has also mentioned on the Penultimate blog that with this partnership, Penultimate will finally be coming to other devices. One of Evernote's strongest points is that it's available happening every major mobile political program, and it would be great to see Penultima also available on a mistakable smorgasbord of devices.

Evernote does bear a draught university extension called Skitch, which runs A a separate app, but will then import drawings into Evernote notes. But it's not very a great solution for attractive pages of handwritten notes. Evernote says on their web log that Ben will lead the effort to bring script and whole number ink functionality into other Evernote products and platforms.

Right now, the only way to get written notes directly into Evernote is done the desktop application on Windows. And even then, you have to choose between handwriting and text, there is no mixing, unequal Microsoft's OneNote operating theatre iPad apps like Noteshelf.

Evernote's squad has been working on handwriting recognition since the days of the Apple Sir Isaac Newton, and Evernote's OCR has worked good for me for making handwriting searchable. You can already take other kinds of notes in Evernote's transportable apps, wish pictures, audio notes, and rich text notes with check boxes and bullet points. Adding Penultimate quality ink directly in the Evernote app would be a huge bonus.
