Hi. I've been having kernel32.dll issues whenever I open whatever movie in whatsoever media player (music works just fine, though; it's just the ActiveMovie.exe that has problems). It started out proverb "The procedure entry point MakeCriticalSectionGlobal could not exist located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll ". Looking through another forum, I plant a suggestion to replace information technology with the kernel32.dl_ from the C:/I386 folder and I did. Now the error has become "The procedure entry signal SUnMapLS_IP_EBP_8 could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll "

I really don't know what to do here. I've tried replacing the kernel file with something I downloaded, but I don't think information technology'south taking since the file is Windows Protected. Any suggestions equally to what I can practise would be profoundly appreciated.

Oh, and I've run the sfc /scannow control like vi times already. It doesn't find annihilation wrong.

ActiveMovie? As in related to either installs of Directx, IE, MediaPlayer just to name a few that I know of. Sounds like versionitis is also a probable cause.

    Is this error "abiding ".
What changes have you made recently? By changes, I mean updates, upgrades, installs, uninstalls.

In well-nigh cases, if yous upgrade one of these, you must upgrade all equally they may crave a newer version of one or all to function properally. Throw in your Graphics and sound bill of fare updates as well. If you haven't updated and upgraded, doing so may articulate up problem.

And as crazy as this may sound.....
On the flipside, many problems come from buggy installs, unistalls or updates or upgrades.

Point is, y'all must exist enlightened of what you accept or have not done recently prior to the trouble.

Running multiple Apps in background, that are known to be incompatible, volition produce undesirable bug. Effort closing [end task] all except those directly needed for job at hand.

    ==========
    Kernel32 errors are nightmare.

    Hi Mondler,

Do you take a Arrangement Restore indicate prior the problem?

If so, start uninstall any programs installed since that point, re Ann's mail which may take caused the problem. At this point, the file is corrupted, uninstalling the offending app volition not fix that, I don't recall.

Then go back to that prior restore point.

    Regards - Charles

Unfortunately, I believe my System Restore is malfunctioning, as well. There seem to exist no restore points from before the problem occurred and I can't move dorsum to the prior month.

The problems started without my doing annihilation extraordinary. Start, winamp3 started to malfunction, saying information technology would not load because DDRAW.DLL was missing. This was only a sudden occurrence, since just a couple of hours ago, I'd been playing music on information technology without any problems, then I but shut downward the computer. The BSOD then appeared and I was told that a ton of my files were crosslinked, which chkdsk fixed. (On that note, I ran chkdsk recently via the Windows Start - Run - chkdsk command and it says that there are bug it won't fix because /F set is non enabled. Should I enable a set? How can I do that?) When I started it upward again, winamp3 was still malfunctioning. I was told to download DDRAW.DLL from the web, which I did and I installed information technology. When I tried uninstalling and reinstalling winamp3, it refused to end installed, considering this time there were kernel32 problems. That would have been fine if the problem hadn't extended to all media players, which at present written report ActiveMovie.exe errors (the 2nd kernel32 i) every fourth dimension I open a moving picture.

The error is constant and happens every fourth dimension I open up a movie file, merely audio files play without error in WMP9.

I even went to Windows Update later on the problem had occurred because I was told that updating DirectX had worked for someone. It didn't work for me. :(

CHKDSK /F should enable it to fix any errors it encounters, if I understood your question right.
